Proud to present the Elos D2 Over-Under Shotgun by FABARM for 2018. The new Elos D2 is a significant upgrade over the previous Elos. FABARM engineers have taken steps to improve the interior, lighten the barrels and give the wooden lifters a lubricated finish. The steel and nickel receiver is designed to be more durable than its predecessor without adding unnecessary weight. The arm is designed to have a no-nonsense connection system. They are beautifully carved and decorated with golden birds. Notable features include an ejector, manual safety, and an optional easy-break trigger at 3.75 pounds. Chrome-plated 28-inch barrels with a vent rib match the brass front bezel. It didn't seem to fit me and it was light (6lbs 2oz). We went to the 20g o/u comparison and settled on the Orvis Elos D2. The screen weighs 6 pounds 12 ounces and feels great when shoulder riding. A close second was the CG Tempio, which featured a leather strap with a full waist 1/4 shorter than standard. CG was also lighter than Elvis. They will be used for clay but mostly for hunting in the sky. I'll keep you updated if I conquer anything!

It's hard to believe that the Orvis is a good price in the shooting department, but based on looks and history alone, I think it's a very good gun.

How thin is the forearm on the Orvis Elos D2 in 20 gauge compared to the Beretta 686 in 20 gauge? I'm on the waiting list with Greg and unfortunately can't try before I buy, even though Ervis has 100% satisfaction. I'm just curious because I don't like big fat guns on my guns...

Yesterday I received the Orvis Fabarm Elos D2 in 20 gauge. Basic features are good. Looks great, doesn't weigh 6.75 lbs. Works without scratches. It doesn't have a big arm at all, I can say it's very similar to the last 686 I got. I don't know if it's because it's also an Italian company, but it looks and feels a lot closer to a 686 than a proper situri. The triggers felt a little heavier at under 4 pounds, but I'm no expert. It weighed less than a rifle. No creep at all, it was hard to open and close, but I guess that's to be expected with a new O/U. I have always found Italian guns to fit and feel good to me. This whole rifle is my Benelli M2 in 12 gauge and feels better than my old Browning Gold Hunter in 20 gauge. I hope to get out and shoot some clay this weekend.
