So far this year, they say, five people have died in homicides, the most in a single year since 2016.

While Gillan was missing during a K9 search, the body of Pvt Second grader Gregory Wedel-Morales was found June 19 in the 3200 block of Florence Road in Killeen. No arrests have been made but authorities suspect foul play. On August 19, 2019, Morales went missing

Officials said eight people died in some accidents. Private Major Morta drowned in Steelhouse Hole Lake on July 17 Francisco Gilberto Hernandezgas was identified after drowning in Temple Lake Park on August 2.
